Bhubaneswar: Police have nabbed a gang of bike-lifters in Khurda after making a close scrutiny of the CCTV footages of the thefts committed by the miscreants.
According to Khurda police sources, the five-member gang was involved in stealing motorcycles from different parts of the district and the State. All of them have been nabbed and 19 stolen bikes and a car seized from their possession.
The sources said the police could know their modus operandi by studying the CCTV footage. The gang members were spotted moving in a car wherever the motorcycles were stolen. They used to make a recce of the area to know the suitable time and opportunity to commit the crime.
The police identified the car registration number and a kept a track of its movement. Subsequently, they nabbed the bike-lifters.
The gang has stolen bikes from Bhubaneswar, Nayagarh and Phulbani areas, the sources said.
