Salepur: A police officer was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly sexually abusing a minor girl at Chandraseipur village under Salepur police limits in Cuttack district.
The accused has been identified as Krushna Chandra Jena, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) at Badambadi police station.
According to a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother at Salepur police station, Jena had visited their rented house on pretext of repairing a defunct water pipe on March 3. He molested the 11-year-old girl after finding her alone at house.
Police have registered a case under Sections 354, 506 and 34 of IPC, 8/10 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
