Cuttack: The Vigilance officials on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids on the house and official residence of Santosh Sahu, IIC of Motu Police Station in Malkangiri district after he was found in possession of unaccountable cash of Rs 2.80 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, the Vigilance officials intercepted the vehicle of Sahu near Khurda while he was on the way to Phulanakhara. During the search of the vehicle, they found Rs 2.80 lakh kept inside it.
As the IIC failed to explain the source of the cash seized from his vehicle, the Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids on the official residence of the IIC at Motu and his residence in Cuttack.
The raids were underway till the reports last came in.
