Police Personnel Attacked By Minor Girl’s Kidnappers in Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: Seven cops of Delang police station in Odisha’s Puri district sustained injuries after being attacked by alleged kidnappers of a minor girl in Jajpur on Friday.

The incident was reported from Barchana area in Jajpur district when the police personnel were on a mission to rescue the minor belonging to Delang.

Pipili SDPO Biranchi Narayan Pati said, “Delang police team was attacked by the accused and his accomplices while returning after rescuing the girl who was kidnapped from Delang. One of our staff and Barchana police personnel were injured in the attack.”

The SDPO added that a case was registered in this connection and a special team has been set up to nab the miscreants.

According to sources, the girl from Delang area was allegedly kidnapped and kept captive in Barchana. Based on the complaint of her father, Delang police had gone to Barchana to rescue the girl.
