Nayagarh: Two persons were picked up by the police on Monday for questioning in connection with minor boy Amrit Patra’s missing case in Odisha’s Nayagarh.
According to sources, the Odogaon police team has also taken Amrit to gather more details regarding his alleged kidnapping case after a proper medical check-up.
Some locals spotted Amrit near his village this morning and informed the police. On getting the information, the local police arrived and took him to his family.
“Amrit was found at Tuku Panda’s house, who lives in Punjab. Panda had given his keys to his cousin brother and he was using it as a godown. However, the godown was not being locked regularly,” Nayagarh Superintendent of Police (SP) Alekh Chandra Pahi told media.
Pahi added that “as of now Amrit has revealed that the alleged kidnappers had kept him at Panda’s house for five days.” However, the details regarding the accused have not yet been ascertained.
Besides, Panda’s house has been sealed, and the forensic team has been instructed to conduct further investigation.
Amrit went missing on the evening of December 15 while returning from tuition. Suspecting that he had been kidnapped, the family filed a missing complaint following which police formed two teams including a dog squad and launched an investigation. His bicycle was recovered during the search operation.
Meanwhile, the locals alleged that a Bolero was seen in the area over the last few days, but it was not seen after the minor went missing. They added that the same car must have dropped back Amrit after learning about the search operation.
