Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police carried out raids at different night clubs, bars and hotels located in Infocity and Chandrasekharpur areas of Odisha capital.
Sources said the raids were conducted late on Saturday night to check if there was any violation of the excise rules. Two special police teams along with three platoons of force were reported to have been engaged in the operation.
During the raids, the police teams checked whether these centres were operating beyond the permitted time and if there was any violation of the sound permission. The operation was primarily aimed at verifying whether these bars and hotels are abiding the excise rules or not.
The enforcement activities were conducted under the Safe City Drive Bhubaneswar and police will send notice to the bars and hotels that were found violating the excise rules. The Excise department will also be asked to issue notice in this connection to the bars and hotels found flouting the rules.
