Police Raid Mall For Selling Products Of Expired Dates In Cuttack City

Cuttack: Police raided a shopping mall for selling expired goods in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Thursday.

Cuttack Zone-6 ACP told the media that following a tip-off, Badambadi police station officials, led by the IIC, carried out the raid on the mall V Bazaar at Badambadi in the city. During the raid, different types of expired food items were seized.

The ACP said the team has also seized a chemical used for erasing the expiry dates and prices written on the packets of the products. The Mall owner used to remove the batch on packets before selling those.

“We have informed the food safety department and will take legal action following investigation,” the ACP said.
