Balangir: Police rescued 28 bonded labourers, while they were being taken outside Odisha, in Kantbanji of the district on Sunday.
According to police sources, while the labourers were taken in two vehicles, a police patrolling van intercepted the vehicles on suspicion. On questioning the occupants of the vehicles, police could know that they were going to work outside the state as bonded labourers.
All of the rescued workers belong to Pajibahal village under Narla police station. They included 18 men, 10 women and 10 children, the sources said.
