Puri: Rescue of a minor girl kidnapped by some unidentified persons in the district in one night has earned kudos for Puri police.
According to police sources, the girl of Chanaghara in Pipili block went missing from near her house on Saturday evening. After failing to find her in nearby areas or their relatives’ houses, her family filed a complaint at Balanga police station.
Following the complaint, a police team led by district SP Kanwar Vishal Singh conducted a search operation and raided several places. Finally, the team managed to trace the girl and rescued her from a house in Delanga of the district at 3 am.
The police have handed over the girl to her family and started further investigation. The kidnappers were planning to send the girl to Kolkata, the sources said.
