Bhubaneswar: Police on Tuesday returned 120 stolen mobile phones that were recovered by different agencies in Bhubaneswar.
Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Prakash Chandra Pal handed over the mobile phones to the rightful owners at a ‘mela’ organised by Bhubaneswar Urban Police district on the premises of Commissionerate of Police.
Different police stations under the police district, property offence prevention and detection (POPD), Team-60 and organised crime and property offence (OCPO) Cell in joint exercise had recovered the stolen cellphones. While OCPO Cell recovered highest 41 phones, Bharatpur PS recovered 23 and Sahidnagar PS 20.
Ot may be noted that the police had recovered 1,434 stolen mobile phones and returned 1,250 of those to their owners in 2022. Similarly, 852 cellpones have been recovered and 715 returned to the owners till date so far, a release of the Commissionerate of Police stated.
