Cuttack: Cuttack Urban Police on Tuesday returned the stolen properties to the rightful owners as part of “Recover Property Handover Programme – 2021”.
The event, an initiative towards citizen centric policing, was organised in the office campus of DCP, Cuttack under strict COVID-19 protocols.
Altogether 69 mobile phones, 18 bikes, 2 laptops, 3 LED TVs, one digital camera and 2 smart watches were recovered in the last 3 months. The police decided to hand over the recovered goods to the owner petitioners at one place at a time. Around 100 owner petitioners received the properties.
“This was our first phase of property handover programme and we will continue it in future at each quarter. We are thankful to our citizens for their good response,” said DCP, Cuttack Prateek Singh.
Besides Singh, Trinath Mishra, Addl DCP and Zonal ACPs attended the function along with the IsIC of Sadar, Madhupatana, Badambadi, Purighat, Bidnanasi, Markatnagar, CDA-II, Cantonment, Mangalabag, Malgodown, Chauliaganj and Jagatpur police stations were present.
