Police Save Woman From Committing Suicide In Cuttack

Cuttack: Police have rescued a woman while she was reportedly trying to commit suicide from an overbridge in Odisha’s Cuttack city.

According to sources, some people saw the woman had tied her scarf around her neck and the other end to the iron railing of the barricade of the overbridge under Chauliaganj police station in the city on Sunday evening.

Suspecting that she was going to jump from the overbridge to hang herself, some of them tried to stop her from committing the act. One person called the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) of Odisha Police on 112.

The ERSS immediately informed Chauliaganj police and sent a vehicle of emergency service to the overbridge. The police arrived at the spot and talked to the woman to dissuade her from taking the extreme step.

After rescuing the woman, they took her to the police station for further action.
