Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police on Tuesday arrested a pimp and sealed the flat of the female tourist, who was arrested the previous day on charges of creating a ruckus near the railway station and abusing cops in an inebriated condition, at Patia here.
The arrested person was the caretaker of the five-room flat, where the Uzbekistan national allegedly ran a sex racket. Police seized three cell phones from his possession. Several objectionable items were recovered from the flat.
The woman used to charge her customers Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000 a night. The neighbours, however, were unaware of the racket, police sources said.
“The caretaker is being interrogated to elicit more information about the woman,” DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said.
The Uzbekistan Embassy has been informed about the matter, the source added.
An Aadhaar Card bearing the name Duniya Khan of Lajpat Nagar in South Delhi, some cash, a bottle of liquor and an expensive mobile phone had been recovered from the woman following her arrest on Monday.
