Police Seize 14 Kg Ganja From Auto After High-Speed Chase In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police intercepted an auto-rickshaw, carrying ganja, even as its driver attempted to flee in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

According to police sources, a team of Baramunda police station was engaged in patrolling and checking of vehicles in the area this morning when the auto-rickshaw came out of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal on APICOL road in high speed.

On finding the police carrying out vehicle checking, the auto-rickshaw driver stepped on the accelerator and managed to escape from the spot. Another police team later intercepted the vehicle near Trinath temple after a chase.

On checking the vehicle, the police team found acute smell of ganja coming out its dickey. They opened the dickey and found ganja packed in a big polythene bag.

The police seized the ganja weighing 14 kg and arrested 4 persons travelling in the auto-rickshaw. They have registered a case and started further investigation.
