Police Seize 300 Litre Of Illicit Country Liquor, Arrest 3 Persons In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police has seized 300 litre of illicit country liquor and arrested three persons in this connection.

According to a press release from the Police Commissionerate, the IIC of Maitri Vihar police station formed a special team to conduct raids following reliable information about preparation of spurious liquor.

The police conducted the raid on a house in Idco Basti of Salia Sahi in the city on Monday. During the raid, they seized 300 litre of illicit country liquor and the materials used for its production.

The three persons, detained during the raid, could not produce any valid document for production of the country liquor. They also admitted that they were preparing the country liquor to sell to the consumers illegally. Following this, the police arrested the three persons including two women.

The arrested persons are Rani Mardi (50), Bhagabati Hansda (41) and Raghunath Birua. All of them belong to Mayurbhanj district and were staying at Idco Basti.

The police have registered a case and started further investigation.
