Police Seize Huge Quantity Of Cough Syrup In Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Police seized huge quantity of Eskuf syrup that is consumed for intoxication and arrested two people in this connection in the district on Tuesday.

Following information that two persons, identified as Babuli Prusty of Belpada block headquarters and Kamal Nag of Tara village were involved in a smuggling racket of the cough syrup and medicines for intoxication, Belpada police conducted a raid in the area.

During the raid, the police seized 190 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup, two strips of Anzolam tablets, a motorcycle and Rs 40,000 in cash in the possession of the two accused, said Belpada OIC Bulu Munda.

The police have registered a case and forwarded the arrested persons to court, the OIC added.
