Koraput: Two out-of-Odisha smugglers tried to pull a fast one on police by hiding over 12 quintals of ganja in a truck loaded with bananas.
However, Sunabeda Police in Koraput district got a tip-off about the plan. Accordingly, they laid a trap and intercepted the truck with the hidden contraband on Friday night. They also arrested two persons for allegedly smuggling the ganja worth over Rs 1 crore.
The accused were identified as Rajib Kumar Mahato of Jharkhand and Raman Kumar of Bihar.
According to sources, the duo was allegedly smuggling the ganja from Jalaput in Koraput district to Bihar, Sunabeda SDPO Manoj Kumar Behera informed.
