Bargarh: A group of unruly people vandalised the police station at Ambabhona in Odisha’s Bargarh district after the cops raided a picnic site on Sunday.
As per preliminary information, around 25 to 30 locals stormed the police station, ransacked furniture and electronic equipment in the building.
Sources said several youths from Ambavona block had gone to Tamdee for a picnic in the morning. When the party was in full swing, a team from Ambabhona police station raided the place suspecting that drugs were being used by the revelers.
Though the youths dispersed from the site after police reached there, many of them later attacked the police station and vandalised the building. They broke all the glass items, furniture, and computers at the police station and fled the place.
The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Bargarh visited the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident. Police said stringent action would be taken against those involved in the incident.
