Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements to ensure peaceful celebration of Christmas in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking to media persons on the preparations on Sunday, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said police forces would be deployed at every church in the city to prevent any untoward incident.
Stating that the police have been directed to deal sternly with mischief mongers and anti-socials, Singh said the vehicles will be checked at different points in the city to prevent accidents due to drunken driving the entire night.
He further said on the night of New Year-eve celebration also, these security measures will be ensured. A meeting with the management of the hotels, where Zero Night celebrations are organised, will be held on December 26.
The DCP said the police would take all possible steps to ensure celebration by the partygoers without disturbance. at the same time, he appealed to the people to enjoy the festival without creating disturbance for others.
