Mumbai: Kunal Kamra was served two summons in connection with his comments on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, but the comedian didn’t respond to either.
After he failed to appear for questioning on Monday, a team of Mumbai Police officers visited Kamra’s Mumbai residence.
Calling it a ‘waste of time’, Kamra posted on X: “Going to an address where I haven’t lived for the last 10 years is a waste of your time & public resources.”

Kamra, who presently lives in Tamil Nadu, sparked a controversy for his stand-up show at Mumbai’s Habitat Studio in Khar.
Summoned for questioning after an FIR was registered on March 24 based on a complaint by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel, Kamra said he won’t apologise for his remarks, but would cooperate with the investigation. He sought a month’s time to respond.
Three more cases have been filed against the comedian at Khar police station.
In a video, Kamra used a parody version of a song from 1997 film ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ targeting Shinde. Angry Shiv Sena workers vandalised the Habitat Studio, and BMC began demolishing parts of the studio.
Last week, the Madras High Court granted interim anticipatory bail to Kamra in connection with the FIRs. “The bail is granted with conditions and will remain in effect until April 7,” Justice Sunder Mohan said.
