Cuttack: In a significant development, senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dilip Ray visited the residence of former Odisha MLA Pravat Ranjan Biswal at Cuttack on Saturday, triggering fresh discussions in political circles.
During his visit, former Union Minister held discussions with the former legislator as well as his son Souvic Biswal, MLA from Choudwar-Cuttack constituency.
The meeting sparked speculations about the future of Odisha politics with observers wondering whether it will lead to the laying of foundation for Biju Legacy. Some ot
hers wonder if a new political party is set to be formed in the state. Many such possibilities are the subject of discussion now.
Observers are keen to know as to why Dilip Ray is meeting senior leaders after being elected to the Rajya Sabha. He met Mohammed Moquim first and now held discussions with Parvata Biswal and his MLA son Souvic.
As per information, Dilip Ray reached Biswal’s residence in Mahanadi Vihar area of the city around 10 am on Saturday. During his visit, he had a secret meeting with Pravat Biswal for about 20 minutes. He also met Sauvic and his mother Laxmi Bilasini Biswal.
It may be noted that Parvat Biswal is slated to organise a meeting with about 15,000 supporters at Chauliaganj sports ground on Sunday.
Sources said political plans and future strategies were discussed during Ray’s meeting with Biswal. Observers want to know as to which party Parvat Biswal will join after being ousted from Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
