Cuttack: The body of a youth, who went missing from Brahmagiri in Odisha’s Puri district, was found floating in Nuanai off Bhargavi river on Monday.
He has been identified as Chittaranjan Palai of Sanabandhakera village. He was the Personal Security Guard of Odisha Planning Board’s Deputy Chairman Sanjay Das Burma.
According to sources, fire service personnel was engaged in a search operation after a motorcycle, footwear and chain, belonging to the youth, were recovered near Gadamrugasira bridge under Puri Sadar police limits last night.
Villagers suspect that Palai was murdered while he had gone to attend a feast. Suspecting abduction by friends when he went missing on Sunday, his family had lodged a missing complaint at Puri Town Police Station.
Some family members pointed accusing fingers at Sanjay Das Burma, alleging that a close associate of his, Jaga, had killed him.
Sadar Police have detained three persons for interrogation, sources added.
