Bhubaneswar: Polling parties, electronic voting machines (EVMs) and VVPATs have been despatched to booths for the third phase of elections on Tuesday.
The EVMs and VVPATs have been sent to five Assembly segments under Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency from the BJB College strongroom.
By evening, the machines will be sent to all booths in the village areas amid tight security. The machines will be sent to the Notified Area Councils and municipalities by Monday.
Sources said adequate security arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair polling in the area.
Web-casting will take place in 18 booths. As many as 56 CCTV cameras will be installed and video shooting will take place in 25 booths.
Marathon campaigning is on on Sunday the last day to do so. It will come to an end by Sunday evening.
On April 23, elections will be held in six Lok Sabha constituencies of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal and 42 Assembly segments.
