Bhubaneswar: A popular apparel store in the capital city was fined and closed on Monday for violating the COVID-19 guidelines.
Maa Tarini Bastralaya at Kalpana Square was closed after the shop was was found operating behind closed doors during a raid today.
The raid was jointly carried out by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation-South East Zone and Central Enforcement Squad. The store was openly flouting COVID guidelines, said the officials.
The customers present in the shop were also fined for violation of Social Distancing norms.
The shop owner has been levied a penalty of Rs 75,000 by BMC Enforcement Team. The raid was led by Assistant Commissioner (Enforcement) Lilan Prasad Sahu.
