Bhubaneswar: Popular Ollywood playback singer Humane Sagar has been put on ventilator support at AIIMS- Bhubaneswar after his condition deteriorated.
The singer is being closely monitored by the Medical ICU (MICU) team after severe respiratory failure and the next 72 hours are very crucial for him. If his condition worsens, he may be airlifted to AIIMS- Delhi, doctors said.
He is hemodynamically unstable and is on multiple vasopressors & ionotropic support and renal replacement therapy (CRRT dialysis) following anuric renal failure.
As per the standard protocol, he is on broad spectrum antibiotics, antifungal and other life supportive measures.
The singer, who was suffering from kidney and liver-related ailments, was rushed to AIIMS- Bhubaneswar on Friday afternoon. He was brought to the hospital’s Emergency department at 1.10 pm, in a very critical condition.
After initial stabilisation, the singer was shifted to MICU under the care of Intensivist and ECMO Specialist Dr Srikant Behera for diagnosis and monitoring.
The singer was diagnosed with MODS (Multi organ dysfunction syndrome)- encephalopathy, shock, respiratory failure, acute kidney injury, hepatopathy, thrombocytopenia, coagulopathy, acute on chronic liver failure (ACLF), bilateral pneumonia, dilated cardiomyopathy with severe LV systolic dysfunction.
Humane, who gained recognition after winning the second season of the “Voice of Odisha” in 2012, carved a niche for himself in the Odia music industry by lending his voice to several songs in Odia films and music albums.
He is currently composing music for the Odia film ‘Chhaki Shun’.
