Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Thursday filed a 1497-page chargesheet in the porn films case against businessman Raj Kundra and three others.
Kundra, who is Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, is presently under judicial custody.
The supplementary chargesheet was filed by the crime branch before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate SB Bhajipale, reported Bar and Bench. The primary chargesheet had arraigned 9 accused persons, including actress and director Gehana Vashist.
Kundra apart, the supplementary chargesheet was filed against — Ryan Thorpe, an employee in IT department of Kundra’s company, who is also in judicial custody; Arvind Kumar Srivastava, named as ‘absconding accused’ in the chargesheet; Pardeep Bakshi, London-based brother-in-law of Kundra, also named as absconding accused.
The accused have been chargesheeted under Sections 354C (Voyeurism), 292, 293 (sale of obscene material), 420 (cheating) and 201 (causing evidence to disappear) under the Indian Penal Code; Sections 67, 67A (transmission of sexually explicit material) under the Information Technology Act and Sections 3, 4, 6 and 7 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
The chargesheet mentions a list of 58 witnesses, including Shilpa Shetty and actress Sherlyn Chopra.

Shilpa had told the police she was aware of the company — Viaan Industries Ltd — which was set up by Kundra in 2015, and that while she had 24.5% share in the company, she was not aware of what work the company did as she was busy with her own work.
Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Police on July 19, with the Metropolitan Magistrate remanding him to police custody till July 23. His remand was extended till July 27 and his bail application rejected on July 28.
His plea challenging his remand to custody and subsequent Metropolitan Magistrate orders in the porn films case was dismissed by the Bombay High Court on August 7.
Kundra then approached Mumbai Sessions Court seeking bail, and police filed a reply opposing the bail application, which is pending hearing.
