Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has blamed porn sites for the increase in cases of sexual violence against women across the country.
Demanding a complete ban on such sites, the CM said he will write a letter to the Centre in this regard soon. Porn sites, he said, were making people vulnerable to perversion.
“I am told about these sites…people commit heinous acts against girls and women, get these filmed and upload the disgusting clips,” news agency PTI quoted him as saying at an event in Gopalganj.
Referring to the recent incident in Hyderabad that took a dramatic turn on Friday with the police killing the four rape-accused in an encounter, the Bihar CM said similar ghastly rape incidents have also been reported in Buxar and Samastipur districts.
He said that his government is committed to taking a strong stand for the cause of the society, reminding of his administration’s move to ban the sale of liquor in Bihar.
