Balasore: Police allowed dead gangster Sheikh Hyder’s wife Hasina Begum and two daughters-in-law to see his body before taking it for post-mortem on Sunday.
Police sources said Hyder’s kin had arrived in Balasore town around 3 am on Sunday to take the body to the gangster’s native town of Kendrapada.
A day earlier, police had gunned down Hyder in an encounter near Simulia in Balasore district. According to police, the gangster sustained three bullet injuries
“text-transform: initial;”>Till reports last came in, the post-mortem was underway at the Balsore district headquarters hospital (DHH). A local magistrate and police were present.

Earlier on Sunday, a forensic team visited the encounter site near Simulia and recovered two empty cartridges. Balasore SDPO Sriharsha Mishra and Additional DCP, Cuttack Pramod Rath accompanied the team.
