Balasore: Police allowed dead gangster Sheikh Hyder’s wife Hasina Begum and two daughters-in-law to see his body before taking it for post-mortem on Sunday.
Police sources said Hyder’s kin had arrived in Balasore town around 3 am on Sunday to take the body to the gangster’s native town of Kendrapada.
A day earlier, police had gunned down Hyder in an encounter near Simulia in Balasore district. According to police, the gangster sustained three bullet injuries
Till reports last came in, the post-mortem was underway at the Balsore district headquarters hospital (DHH). A local magistrate and police were present.

Earlier on Sunday, a forensic team visited the encounter site near Simulia and recovered two empty cartridges. Balasore SDPO Sriharsha Mishra and Additional DCP, Cuttack Pramod Rath accompanied the team.
