Chandigarh: A case has been registered against an unidentified person over a poster which issued a death threat to Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
According to police, the poster announced a reward of $1 million for killing the chief minister and was pasted on a guide map near the Sector 66-67 crossing. The poster was first noticed on new year’s eve and had an email ID written on it.
A high-profile team is investigating the case, with police scanning footage of CCTV cameras installed near the spot where the poster was found.
Mohali Police has registered an FIR under Sections 504, 506 & 120B of IPC and Sections 3, 4, 5 of Punjab Prevention of Defacement Property Ordinance Act, 1997.
