Posters Opposing Damodar Rout’s Dismissal Found In Rayagada

Rayagada: Posters and banners opposing BJD leader Damodar Rout from the ministry were found at Bisamcuttack, Muniguda and Ambala areas in Rayagada district on Wednesday.
The posters and banners put up by the Rayagada division of Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh claimed that Damodar Rout is the favourite leader of tribals. He has not given any statement against the Brahmins at Malyavant Mahotsav, it stated.
Through the posters, the outfit questioned why the Chief Minister has not sacked some MLAs, despite their involvement in the multi-crore chit fund scam in the state.
Rout was dismissed by the CM from his council of Ministers on December 22 for allegedly making certain derogatory remarks against the Brahmin community. He was also removed as the vice president of BJD the following day.
On December 17, Rout, during a meeting ‘Malyavant Mahotsav’ in Malkangiri, had stated that Brahmins beg for alms when situation arises, but tribals never beg.
