Bhubaneswar: Power supply in the remaining affected areas of the cyclone-hit Gajapati district would be restored by October 23.
This was informed by the joint relief commissioner Pravat Mohapatra here on Sunday.
He said the state government would also provide compensation to the affected families for the loss of livestock in the flood.
“While Rs 30,000 compensation would be provided for loss of each cow, Rs 25,000 would be given for each bullock. Besides, Rs 3,000 would be provided for goat and sheep and a maximum of Rs 5,000 for chicken,” Mohapatra said.
The financial assistance would be extended for three such animals per family, he added.
He further said that the state government would provide a compensation of Rs 3,800 to the affected families towards the damage to utensils and clothing.
With regard to loss of property, he said Rs 95,100 would be provided to each family whose houses have been completely damaged in the plain area and Rs 1,01,900 to those in the hilltop.
In cases of partially damage, Rs 5,200 would be provided for pucca houses, Rs 3200 for kutcha ones and Rs 4,100 for huts, he added.
