Pramila Mallik Gets Additional Portfolios A Day After 2 Odisha Ministers Quit

Bhubaneswar: A day after two Odisha Ministers resigned, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Pramila Mallik was given the additional charge of School and Mass Education as well as Labour departments.

Sources said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik allocated the two additional portfolios to Mallik, sources said.

It may be noted here that Assembly Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das and Labour Minister Srikant Sahu had resigned from their posts on Friday.

The resignations of the three BJD leaders came in the wake of speculation that the Chief Minister may effect a reshuffle in the ministry soon.

Sahu said with Assembly elections a year away, he would shoulder party organisational responsibilities. Das also gave his reactions on similar lines.

While Arukha said he quit the post on personal grounds, it was speculated that he may be given a ministerial berth.
