Bhubaneswar: Senior BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das on Tuesday alleged that more than 400 people have lost their lives in over 200 accidents in last ten years due to precarious condition of National Highway-55 between Sambalpur and Cuttack in Odisha.
Making the allegation in a post on his X handle, the BJD organisational secretary and party candidate for Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat sought to know from Union Minister Dharmendra as to who is responsible for the loss of so many lives in road accidents.
Pranab is pitted against the senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Sambalpur Parliamentary constitutions. “Because of whose inefficiency so many lives have been lost,” he asked Dharmendra.
Noting that Dharmendra has been a Union Minister for the last ten years, Pranab said work on the NH stretch could not be completed despite the BJP leader from the state being a Minister at the Centre.
Terming it as a major failure of Dharmendra, he sought to know as to how the BJP leader will face the people of Sambalpur and said the voters will teach him a lesson in the upcoming elections.
