Cuttack: Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Pravat Ranjan Biswal, who was undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital here, underwent a CT scan on Saturday.
“I am feeling uneasy. But, I believe that truth will definitely win and I will get justice,” the ailing MLA said in his reaction.
Biswal was arrested by the CBI for his alleged links with the multi-crore Seashore chit fund scam on September 19 last year.
On April 24, He was granted interim bail from Orissa High Court for a period of two months only after furnishing two sureties.
The court had directed him to co-operate with the investigating agency and not to destroy any evidence pertaining to the case.
The Special CBI Court in Bhubaneswar and the District Judge and Sessions Court has rejected Biswal’s bail pleas following which he had been remanded to judicial custody. However, owing to health problems, he was admitted to the SCB and still undergoing treatment there.
Meanwhile, the legislator had moved the High Court seeking bail and was granted the same.
