Pravat Biswal’s supporters block road before CBI office

Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of supporters of Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Pravat Biswal staged a mass protest and blocked the road before the CBI office here to protest against his arrest.

“We strongly condemn the legislator’s arrest. Biswal is a popular MLA of Cuttack district. He is no way involved in the chit fund scam. It is the BJP, which hatched a conspiracy and got him arrested after the BJD’s hartal against fuel price hike received good response from the general public in Choudwar under his leadership,” one of the agitators said.

BJD youth wing activists also took out a huge bike rally from Cuttack to the CBI office here to extend their support to the legislator.

Pravat was arrested by the CBI from his Mahanadi Vihar residence at Cuttack early on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in a land deal concerning Seashore Group Of Companies, an accused in the chit fund scam.
