Dhamnagar/Nilagiri: The authorities of Dhamnagar College in Bhadrak district declared sine die after bombs were hurled on the campus by some students on Monday.
According to available information, a group of students and outsiders hurled bombs and ransacked properties on the campus when the general council meeting was underway to discuss the ensuing students’ elections.
Similarly, five students were injured after a group clash broke between two groups at Jamusuli Laxmi Narayan College in Jaleswar of Balasore district in the afternoon. The injured students were rushed to the community health centre at Basta for treatment.
Adequate police personnel have been deployed in and around the campus to prevent any untoward incident.
Several properties of the college were set on fire by some students following the clash.
On the other hand, the students’ union elections were cancelled at Nilagiri College here and the educational institution closed sine die after a group of students hurled bombs on the college premises and ransacked the doors and windows.
