Pregnant Woman Drowns In Pond In Front Of Husband In Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: A pregnant woman drowned in a pond in front of her husband near Jamsar village under Puintala block of Odisha’s Balangir district late Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Pinky.

According to sources, the couple was returning from hospital after Pinky’s medical check-up when their car went out of control and plunged into the pond. Her husband, identified as Muna Sahu of Ghusuramunda village in Loisinga block, managed to swim back to safety.

However, Pinky was unable to get out of the pond. Locals spotted them struggling and informed the fire brigade.

On being informed, fire brigade personnel arrived at the spot and rescued Pinky. She was rushed to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir where doctors declared her brought dead.
