Berhampur: A pregnant woman and her niece were killed after being hit by a vehicle near Kotinada police outpost in Ganjam district’s in Aska locality on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Rashmita Parida (28) and her niece Asharani Khandual. Both are residents of the Muapali area.
The incident happened when the duo went for a morning walk. The vehicle hit them and fled the spot.
Police reached the spot, recovered the bodies and started an investigation into the matter. Efforts are on to nab the vehicle.
