Bhubaneswar/Dubai: Hectic preparations are underway for the Ollywood Film Awards ceremony to be held in Dubai on January 13.
The ceremony, titled 5 Star Film Awards 2024, will be held at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, IHS OUD Metha, Dubai on January 13 from 5 pm. Hosted jointly by RR Events & Cine Production and Odisha Samaj, UAE, the mega event will take place at outside India for the first time in the history of Odia cinema.
The colourful cultural extravaganza will showcase the essence and fragrance of Odisha’s rich art, vibrant culture and lofty film firmament.
Who’s who of Odia diaspora in United Arab Emirates (UAE), more than 1500 Odia film lovers and fans will attend the ceremony. Around 105 artistes from Odia film industry and music and dance fraternity will fly to Dubai to take part in the even.
Veteran Odia filmmaker Prashanta Nanda will be the chief guest at the first international Odia film awards night. Other distinguished guests include Indian Consul General at Dubai Satish Sivan and Chairman of Danube Group Rizwan Sajan. Two jury members of the awards selection committee, Rajani Ranjan and Prashanta Padhi, will also be present.
Speaking to the media, founder of RR Events & Cine Production Ramesh Barik said the prime objective of the awards show is to exhibit the extraordinary talent, excellent creativity and exemplary artistic acumen of Odia cinema professionals in an international arena.
Speaking on the highlights of the cultural jambori, president of Odisha Samaj, UAE Amiya Mishra said the initiative will also highlight vast opportunities offered by Odisha for investment in various sectors including art, culture, tourism, cinema, handloom and handicrafts.
The chief adviser of the ceremony and chairman of the World Odisha Society, Kishore Dwibedi exuded confidence that the pioneering endeavour of RR Events & Cine production will provide an opportunity to recognise and honour the exceptional talents in the Odia film industry and celebrate their superb workmanship on an international platform.
