Bhubaneswar: Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik received President Droupadi Murmu as she arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Odisha capital on Friday. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also present.
The President is on a two-day visit to Odisha and will be attending the second convocation of Rama Devi Women’s University and some other events in the twin cities on Friday and Saturday.
After arriving in Bhubaneswar, she proceeded to Utkal Mandap, where she is scheduled to attend the foundation day of Jnanaprabha Mission this afternoon. Later she will attend the second convocation of Rama Devi Women’s University, also her alma mater.
President Murmu completed her graduation from Rama Devi Women’s College in 1979. She was conferred with an honorary degree on its first convocation after the college was upgraded to a full-fledged university.
She will also inaugurate a banquet hall at the Governor’s residence and spend the night at Raj Bhavan.

On the second day, she is scheduled to visit Lingaraj Temple to pay obeisance to the Lord and then attend a programme at the National Rice Research Institute (NRRI) Cuttack before returning to Delhi.
This is her second visit to the state after being sworn in as the President of India in July 2022.
