Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday inaugurated the Kalinga Atithi Nivas at the Raj Bhavan premises in Bhubaneswar during her two-day visit to Odisha.

Officials said the newly constructed facility is designed to provide accommodation for visiting VVIPs and dignitaries, while showcasing Odisha’s rich cultural heritage through its design.

ies to create a dignified and welcoming space. The inauguration marks a significant step in strengthening Odisha’s hospitality infrastructure, ensuring that Raj Bhavan can host national and international guests with both comfort and cultural pride.

The new facility is envisioned not just as a guest house but as a symbol of Odisha’s commitment to preserving its cultural identity while embracing modernity. By integrating heritage-inspired design with contemporary facilities, the state aims to project its unique character to visiting dignitaries and strengthen its image as a destination of tradition and progress.

Those present on the occasion included Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, Assembly Speaker Surama Padhi, and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan.
