Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu, who recently undertook her maiden visit to Odisha after assuming the country’s top constitutional post, is likely to tour her home state again next month.
According to reports, the President is expected to visit her home state in December. However, her programme is yet to be officially confirmed.
The country’s first tribal woman President is likely to visit her hometown Pahadpur in Mayurbhanj district in the second week of December, they said.
It is pertinent to mention here that President Murmu had recently undertaken a two-day visit to Odisha on November 10 and 11.
Murmu had started her tour with a visit to Shree Jagannath temple in Puri to offer prayers to the sibling deities and seek their blessings in the 12th century shrine.
The President, who was accorded a civic reception at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, had visited Tapoban High School at Khandagiri and her alma mater Capital Girls’ High School and Kuntalakumari Sabat Adivasi Girls Hostel at Unit 2 and attended a special function at Jayadev Bhawan to launch engineering text books in Odia language.
