Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu has postponed her three-day visit to Odisha from October 23.
The Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the President, in an official letter, informed about the postponement of the President’s scheduled Odisha visit.
The President was scheduled to visit the state from October 23 to 25. As per the itinerary, she was scheduled to visit Bangirposi, Uparbeda, Rairangpur, Puri and Bhubaneswar during the three-day tour.
She would have landed at Bangriposi helipad in Mayurbhanj district on October 23 morning and then proceeded to Bangiriposi railway station on road and lay foundation stones for three railway lines of Bangiriposi-Gorumahisani, Buramara-Chakulia, and Badampahar-Kendujhargarh.
She was also scheduled to virtually launch three projects – Tribal Research Centre, Dandabose Airport, and a sub-divisional hospital.
It may be noted that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast landfall of the possible Cyclone ‘Dana’ along north Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island by October 24-25 with a wind speed of 100-110 kmph gusting 120 kmph.
