Puri: President Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Puri to pay obeisance to the sibling deities at Jagannath Temple during her maiden two-day Odisha trip after assuming the top office of the country on July 25.
Speaking to the media, Puri collector Samarth Verma said that they have received an official communication and her trip to the Pilgrim town on November 10 would involve a visit to the 12th-century shrine. “A meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra yesterday where the trip was discussed with senior and district-level officials,” he said.

A district-level preparatory meeting is scheduled for Friday at 3.30 pm, which will be attended by the line departments, temple administration officials, police and governor house officials. “Different departments will be assigned tasks after a detailed discussion,” he said.
He added that she would visit during the first half of the day. “We are yet to receive a communication on the timing from her office,” he added.
