Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will embark on 3-day visit to Odisha on Tuesday, coinciding with her completing one year in office.
She is scheduled to arrive in the state capital around 6.30 pm.
According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson, she will begin her visit with an interaction with a group of medical students, whose education is sponsored by Atut Bandhan, a non-profit organisation.
She will then lay the foundation stone for a new building block of Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.
On July 26, Murmu will grace the valedictory function of 75th year celebrations of the High Court of Orissa in Cuttack. She will also address the annual function of SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, and grace the convocation of National Law University, Odisha, on the same day.
Before returning, the President will interact with the members of particularly vulnerable tribal groups at Raj Bhavan on July 27.
She will also launch this year’s theme of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya — “The Year of Positive Change” — for conducting nationwide seminars and conferences and lay the foundation stone for its “Lighthouse Complex” at Dasabatia in Bhubaneswar’s Tamando, the spokesperson added.
A total of 36 platoons of police force, including 12 additional DCPs, 25 ACPs, 40 inspectors, and 120 SIs and ASIs, will be deployed during the President’s visit to Odisha, which is her third since assuming the highest office in India in July 2022.
