Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Rourkela on March 21, Sundargarh MP and senior BJP leader, Jual Oram told the local media here on Friday.
“However, the official itinerary is yet to come. I whole-heartedly welcome the President to Odisha,” Oram said, adding that the programmes will be observed in a subdued manner due to the pandemic situation.
During his one-day visit to the Steel City, Kovind is scheduled to attend the 18th convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela.
Later in the day, he will inaugurate the Super Speciality Hospital on the campus of Ispat General Hospital (IGH). The event will be attended by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The President would stay at the Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on the same night. On March 22, he is likely to visit the Sun Temple at Konark. This is the first time that Kovind will visit Konark after assuming office as the President.
