Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu spoke with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday evening and enquired about the flood situation in the state in the aftermath of Cyclone Arnab.
The President also asked about the well-being of the people affected by the natural calamity.
“President Droupadi Murmu spoke with Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha, telephonically and enquired about the situation in the State in the aftermath of Cyclone Arnab. She also enquired about the well-being of the people displaced and those affected by the cyclone and subsequent floods,” the President’s office said in a post on X.

The Odisha CM, who undertook an aerial survey of the flood-ravaged districts of Ganjam and Gajapati earlier in the day, appreciated President Murmu’s deep concern and support for the people of Odisha.
“Spoke with the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji over the telephone today and briefed her on the impact of #CycloneArnab across Odisha, the prevailing situation in the affected districts, and the extensive relief and restoration measures being undertaken by the State Government. In this challenging hour her deep concern for the people of Odisha and her reassurance of comprehensive support have profoundly strengthened our resolve,” Majhi wrote on X.

President Murmu’s three-day visit to Odisha has been cancelled in view of the prevailing conditions.
