Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu extended warm wishes to people of the nation on the occasion of Janmashtami.
In her message, the President said, “On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all my fellow citizens and Indians living abroad.”
President Murmu added, “On the day of Janmashtami, we worship Bhagwan Shri Krishna. This festival of joy inspires us to dedicate ourselves to the divine ideals of Bhagwan Shri Krishna. Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, the dialogue between Shri Krishna and Arjuna is an eternal source of inspiration and enlightenment for entire humanity.”
She exhorted countrymen to imbibe the teachings of Bhagwan Shri Krishna and resolve to work for the progress and prosperity of the nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his wishes to the people on Janmashtami. On X, PM Modi wrote, “Wishing you all a very Happy Janmashtami. Jai Shri Krishna!”
Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi stated, “Greetings and wishes to all on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. Prayers before Lord Krishna for to bless us with peace and progress. Jai Shri Krishna.”
Noted sand sculptor Sudarsan Pattnaik created a stunning sand art of Lord Krishna on Puri’s golden beach with several earthen pitchers filled with butter (made from sand and coloured in white).
With the sand art, Pattnaik has condemned the rape and murder of a lady doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar hospital. He prayed Lord Krishna to end all evil from society making it a better place to live in.
