Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will address the 53rd convocation of Utkal University in Odisha capital on Thursday.
Speaking to the media on details of the President’s programme, vice-chancellor of the university Sabita Acharya said she will arrive at the venue at 5.30 pm. The President’s address at the convocation is scheduled at 6.15 pm. She will leave the university campus at 6.35 pm.
The university has made special arrangements for the President’s visit. A special corridor has been laid to welcome her while a large LED panel will be installed in the university’s auditorium for live streaming of her address.
Governor Raghubar Das will preside the convocation while Higher Education Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak will be the guest of honour. Members of the university’s syndicate and academic council, teaching staff and students will attend the ceremony.
Three eminent persons will be conferred with honorary doctorate while PhD/DLitt degrees will be conferred on 166 scholars in the convention, the vice-chancellor said.
